Composition

Water, aloe vera juice, aloe vera extract, acidifier: citric acid (E330), preservatives: potassium sorbate (E202) and sodium benzoate (E221).

Properties

Aloe vera is a plant with fleshy, thorny leaves that grows in desert climates such as the Southern United States and Mexico. There are two varieties: Aloe barbadensis and Aloe ferox. Two products are extracted from the leaves: aloe gel, juice obtained by squeezing the leaf. It is a viscous, yellowish-white liquid. Filtering it removes the parenchyma from the juice. A byproduct of the juice is aloes, obtained after concentrating the juice. It is a dark, bitter mass.

The active ingredients are polysaccharides and anthraquinones (aloin, alanosides, and aloe-emodin), to which it owes its properties. In low doses (1-2 tablespoons), aloe vera is stomachic and cholagogue; in medium doses (3-4 tablespoons), it is a laxative that acts on the large intestine. In high doses, aloe vera is a natural purgative. It has been credited with many almost miraculous cures for ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome, as it is also a good healing agent.

Instructions for use

Take 2-6 tablespoons twice a day, or use as a tonic on clean skin or hair, massaging lightly twice a day.

Side effects / contraindications

In cases of hemorrhoids, the dose should be low. Pregnant women, cystitis, colitis, children, consult a doctor.
