Krill, small cold-water shrimp, are a species of marine zooplankton. Physalis krill oil is extracted from the Euphausia superba. Krill oil is very rich in the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. The omega-3 fatty acids in krill oil are present in the form of phospholipids, which are much more easily assimilated by the body. In addition to fatty acids, krill oil is rich in astaxanthin.
