From first cold pressing, wheat germ, obtained by grinding pure wheat, is extremely nutritious; rich in proteins, fats, amino acids, minerals (sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, and fluorine) and vitamins (A, E, B1, B2, B3, B6).

Wheat germ is rich in vitamin E, making it a powerful antioxidant and cardiovascular protector. After brewer's yeast, it is the food with the most folic acid. It is also rich in proteins, vitamin K, zinc, copper, manganese, and selenium. Due to its polyunsaturated fatty acids, it is hypolipidemic; it is indicated for atherosclerosis and hyperlipidemias (excess fat in the blood, a risk factor for atherosclerosis and pancreatitis).
