Properties: The active ingredient found in St. John's Wort is hypericin. This compound has proven antidepressant properties, capable of normalizing the processes that occur during mood swings, balancing the nervous system. Its antidepressant action begins to be evident after two weeks of treatment. St. John's Wort also produces central nervous system depression, resulting in a potent anxiolytic and hypnotic. St. John's Wort is indicated for depression, anxiety, stress, nervousness, dermatitis, and other skin lesions. Directions for use : Tablets: 2-3 tablets daily. Warnings: Hypericin can cause photosensitivity, so it is recommended to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. Do not take during pregnancy or breastfeeding. May interact with oral anticoagulants, oral contraceptives (reduces blood levels of these substances), cyclosporine, theophylline, reverse transcriptase inhibitors, digitalis, serotonin reuptake inhibitors, tetracyclines, sulfonamides, antihistamines, barbiturates, or alcohol.
